Starflight Theme

Ever since re-watching "Galaxy Quest", the 1986 PC game "Starflight" has been on my mind. Particularly the theme music. So far as I knew, it had only ever existed on the single-note-at-a-time speaker (a buzzer, really) embedded inside the first PCs.

I opened up GarageBand this afternoon. In an hour I figured out how to use it. Two hours later I had arranged the Starflight theme from memory. You can download my arrangement:

Not bad for my first-ever attempt to pretend to be a musician. I admit I was inspired a little bit by "Airwolf" there at the end.

I also found a YouTube video of a fan-made sequel to Starflight, starting with a rendition of this theme so wonderful that it obliterates mine. My Starflight happiness is complete.
